Day 9 was fast. The day started with me going to a place like ikea to buy all the household stuff. Really reminds me of my childhood where my dad will take me on his lorry to go around buying all the household stuff. :)
After that had to rush down to university of santiago to meet cindy, powla and her friend. Eelee joined us after that. It really feels like real ministry. The adjustment period is going to be over already i guess. Took one whole week to get used to the weather and settle down man.
When i was praying and interceding for the people just now, God spoke to me that i need to personalise and take ownership of my stay in Chile. That God has sent me here for a reason and i should not want to go back without leaving a seed behind. Now i really want to see a strong university group here b4 i leave. Its amazing what God wants to do yeah? I was only suppose to be here for vacation and "see see look look" but now i'm here doing active minstry.
My lunch appointment with the contact
Hi, if there is any young adults or graduating students who happen to look at this blog please please consider to make plans to come to Hope Chile. Let me give you 10 reasons why you should come.
1) Church Planting is the only way to finish the great commission
2) It is not beyond you totally to make yourself available for Church planting
3) Your ministry in Singapore don't need you to stay
4) You are sick and tired of the rat race in Singapore
5) You will gain a global experience that your peers in Singapore will never be able to get.
6) Your experience in Chile can be used to give yourself value-addedness in your future job in Singapore.
7) You'll learn to appreciate things around you much more
8) You'll learn to stand on your feet in all four realms - Physical, Mental, Emotional and Spiritual
9) Everyday on the missions field is the bible come alive
10) Hope Chile needs a replacement team quite urgently.
Here's the situation. We have 4 church planters here. and some of the church planters needs to go back to singapore to rest by this yr or the next. We need a team to replace the current team who have been here from 3 to 5 years.
We have landed this team 5 years ago with David and Peter. We send our church planters off @ changi airport, missions conference with much funfair and encouragment. Moving on from there, we need to support these teams when and where they need help. And yes, we are looking and waiting for the replacement team. 5 yrs of hardwork and foundation built by all these people has to be continued.
It cannot just end like that.
In David's words:
Hope church does not believe in people only staring to serve when they think they have a calling from God.
I guess there will be sacrifices along the way. There will definately be. But i don't believe one bit that if we give up certain things for God, he will not bless us many folds back. God will never short-change us. As we count the cost, just remember that God was never calculative with us during the many times he blessed us so let's not be so calculative when we stuggle with whether to go for missions.
Some of you may say i'm naive. Or i have not seen the real world yet. Or i've not even made a decision myself. Yes its true, i have not even started my uni studies. But, what's wrong with having a child-like faith that if i give my life to God in missions, will he not help me and protect me. Sometimes, we're too complicated for our own good. 5 personal reasons against missions.
1) Career Path
2) Marriage/Family/Parents
3) Debts/Repayments/Financial Problems
4) Insecurity
5) Establishing a new Social base
Is God not above all these?
You 1st have to decide to go for missions then make efforts to overcome the difficulties in the way. Don't look at the difficulities in the way then decide if you can go for missions. Trust me, you'll never go. Don't work towards the decision for missions, work towards missions.
It is a decision you'll never regret.
