I was flipping though some of my old files the other day and stumbled upon a NS prayer and fasting guide. The guide was written when the Ns grp was still a cg and there was this poem inside that i really liked. Basically, the caregroup was not doing very well at that point and thus this poem. Some of you may have seen it before. But yeah, shall share with the rest.
~~ Caregroup ~~
You have your own life,
I have my own.
We book into different camps,
Work in different jobs.
You don’t know me,
I don’t know you.
As sad as it is,
We don’t care.
A message comes,
Asking how you are,
Too busy to reply,
Too shack to answer,
Or simply just bo chap.
Then we put down the phone,
And complain that we’re lonely,
Life is not good,
But no one cares.
How are others doing in their camps?
It never crossed my mind to drop them a little msg.
To ask them how was their day?
Because I’m more bothered with how was mine,
As sad as it is,
I don’t care.
We come together on weekends,
To Praise and Worship a common God.
You say “hi” to me,
I say “hello” to you,
We settle unto our seats,
But I still don’t know you.
Come Meridian,
You look at your group,
I look at my food,
You have nothing to say to your group,
But I have grace to say for my food.
I look at the food,
It’s steaming hot,
One minute I wait,
Two minutes, I wait,
Three minutes the steam no more.
My stomach growls,
The food cold.
Be logical I learnt,
I decide not to wait.
Hot food, hungry stomach,
Must satisfy,
My caregroup members never mind.
Come Caregroup,
The same faces appear,
Nothing exciting,
Nothing New,
The weather is hot,
But the hearts are cold.
You say “hi” to me,
I say “hello” to you,
But I still don’t know you.
What is the caregroup strength?
What is our vision?
Where are we heading?
What is our role in it?
Not my problem I say,
Because I just follow.
Praise and worship,
Holy com,
Testimony &
Teaching,
We say Amen, Amen,
& Amen.
It is our thousandth Amen as a group.
We make a covenant,
We cast a vision,
We set a direction.
We say Amen, Amen,
& Amen.
It is our thousandth Amen as a group.
A breeze passes,
Caregroup ends,
Everyone goes on different ways,
You go yours,
I go mine,
And we say Goodbye with a smile.
Brings back memories ehh...
Regards,
Jie Hui
