Heartening message

Went to one of our new member's grand dad's funeral yesterday. It was an interesting funeral to attend to. There wasn't tears, there wasn't crying, or condolences messages. There was an atmosphere of acceptance that the seperation is only temporal. Yeah, you would have guessed it by now, its a christian funeral. There was singing, there was light hearted moments and sharing of testimonies. It was like a family gathering. It was so different from the secular or the taoist ones that i had attended. The idea that hey, we'll see him with the Lord ehh?

I still remember what pastor jeff said once. There was once he went to attend a funeral of a sister in christ's mom. The mom was a non believer and during the funeral, the sister in christ broke down and started weaping. She turned to Pastos Jeff and said this, "Pastor, i'll never see my mom again, not even in heaven."

On a lighter note, i got to talk to the new member's mom yesterday and it was really encouraging. She made this remark that really struck me. "Do you know how much my son changed for the better ever since he joined Hope church?" Wow, this is why we work so hard for yeah?

Changed lives.
