When I first walked into the church,
I was raw,
I was lost,
I was a rash young man.
But you held on to me,
And you became the church I love.

You nurtured me,
You gave to me,
You blessed me,
You taught me,
You challenged me.
This is the church I love.

Praise and worship,
Teachings,
Camps,
And meetings,
One by one, we shared the memories.
This is the church I love.

Faithfulness,
Love,
Community,
Giving,
And many more things you taught me.
This is the church I love.

Great,
Gift,
God,
Grace.
Great is this Gift God has gracefully given to me. I don't deserve it.
But this is the church I love.

You’re not perfect,
You're made up of imperfect people, systems and structures.
Sometimes it is irritating,
Sometimes it is just not what a bride should be,
But I will hang on to you.
Because this is the church I love.

I'm not looking for a perfect church,
I'm not looking for the best church,
I'm looking for a place I call home.
A place we look to God and try our best.
A biblical church i can say this to:
This is the church i love.

You’re not a vegetable in the wet market.
Good we take, bad we reject.
Fun we come, dull we go.
Fulfilled, we pledge allegiance.
Uninspired, we say ‘boo!’
But you’re still the church I love.

Some have grown cold,
Others have given up on making you better.
And the rest have simply left.
It hurts me to see this happen.
But I will soldier on, mark my words:
This is the church I love.

You touch the church, you touch me.
Over my dead body will I allow harm to the church.
I will pray, fast and intercede for the church.
that the Holy Spirit will fill the church,
I will do everything i can to protect the name and the prestige of the church.
This is the church i love.

You invested so much in me,
And I am forever indebted to you,
Any part of you that is not good,
I give my life to make it right,
Never mind the obstacles that I may face.
This is the church I love.

Never will I leave you,
Never will I forsake you.
I say these words to God.
And I want to say them to His bride today.
From the depth of my heart.
I say,
